Program Manager
Philip Nevenhoven has 30 years of experience in the aerospace industry, working as a program manager and quality assurance leader. His background includes support for executive, commercial, and military aircraft systems. Throughout his career, he has consistently led complex programs, improved production quality, and aligned teams with aerospace standards, including AS9100, ISO 9001, and defense compliance protocols.
His professional path reflects a long-standing dedication to craftsmanship and leadership, grounded in practical experience and a strong interest in solving technical challenges. That commitment began early. Growing up in a small Iowa town, he was drawn to understanding how things functioned and were built. At 13, Philip helped remodel a house for a friend’s father who owned a construction company. During that summer project, he completed his first full electrical wiring job—an experience that sparked his interest in hands-on work and construction problem-solving.
While in high school, Nevenhoven spent his school breaks working with a general contractor, gaining exposure to all phases of residential construction. His skills were recognized early by his shop teacher, who eventually leaned on him for real-world training during the summer months. After earning a degree in carpentry, he returned to home building and later passed the union carpentry apprenticeship exam at age 19—becoming the youngest to do so without formal apprenticeship training.
A job site injury shifted his direction from residential construction to building aircraft interiors. In 1995, he entered the aerospace field, constructing interiors for custom business jets in Kansas. This marked the beginning of a three-decade career in aerospace, during which he transitioned into roles spanning quality, engineering, and program management.
Over the years, Philip worked with major aerospace organizations in the U.S., Canada, and France. He led projects supporting executive and military aviation programs, most recently managing a team of over 50 quality engineers and program managers. His leadership included responsibility for FAA conformity, AS9100 compliance, ISO systems, aircraft seating, and interior production—managing entire program lifecycles from design to delivery. He worked closely with OEMs and suppliers, handling product conformity, subcontractor inspections, and regulatory compliance across domestic and international projects.
Beyond technical oversight, Nevenhoven contributed to training, process improvement, and operational efficiency. His efforts led to reduced rework and successful FAA audits. His skills in CATIA V5, ENOVIA, and lean quality supported design and manufacturability improvements. He also played a lead role in conformity inspections, certification phases, and quality system audits involving FAA, DERs, and other aviation authorities.
He earned a CATIA V5 Certificate from Wichita State University’s NIAR in 2006 and an AOS/Certificate in Building Trades/Carpentry from Ellsworth Community College in 1989.
He is also committed to giving back, supporting nonprofits such as Goodwill. In his free time, he enjoys home renovation projects, staying fit, and distance running, having received recognition in various races.
Philip Nevenhoven continues to apply his knowledge and experience with dedication, balancing technical precision with team leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement.
